Welcome to the third and final post of my summer series in collaboration with Kwik Trip! If you missed the first two posts, or just want to read them again, you can find them here (Hittin’ the Road This Summer With Kwik Trip) and here (The Ultimate Guide to Simple Summer Cookouts). I know I say this every time, but I am honestly SO excited for today’s post because it’s all about my favorite thing ever – SUMMER TREATS.
If you know me at all, you probably know my kitchen skills leave little to be desired. I hate cooking + baking, and with the huge selection of treats at Kwik Trip, I don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen to have a sweet treat! Read on for four really awesome and yummy recipes for treats you can make today – the best part is that all of the ingredients can be found conveniently at Kwik Trip! By the way, I don’t really consider these “real” recipes since they only require one or two ingredients and take 15 minutes or less to prepare… consider them inspiration for making your own delicious masterpiece. Bring on the yummy summer goodness!

Rootbeer Float
I think we can all agree that rootbeer floats are a summer staple. Sometimes (frequently, actually), I’m craving a rootbeer float but not feeling like spending $5 on one at A&W. Kwik Trip to the rescue! You can get everything you need to make rootbeer floats for your whole family in one visit to Kwik Trip. A&W rootbeer paired with creamy Nature’s Touch vanilla ice cream is a match made in heaven. This isn’t really a “recipe”, but here’s what you need to make your own:

-Rootbeer
-Vanilla ice cream
-Spoon or ice cream scoop
-A tall cup
This one is pretty self-explanatory… Scoop a bunch of ice cream into your cup and pour on the rootbeer! Keep the rootbeer close so you have easy access for refills. I like mine more liquidy, so I add a lot of rootbeer! It seems like adding a fun straw to your float makes it taste extra delicious, so I never skip this step!

Glazer Ice Cream Sandwich
Glazers and ice cream are arguably my two favorite things EVER; the next treat puts a fun twist on dessert time by combining the two. Could you imagine anything better than a Glazer stuffed with yummy Nature’s Touch ice cream?! I can’t. Sometimes you just can’t pick between a Glazer and ice cream – you just need both. Clear up some freezer space so you have room for all these sandwiches and read on to learn how to make your own!

-A box of Glazers
-Spoon or ice cream scoop
-Sharp knife
-Ice cream

-Crushed up cookies
-Your favorite cereal
-Sprinkles
-Chocolate chips

First, cut a Glazer in half. Then add 2 or 3 scoops of your favorite ice cream and gently press the other Glazer half on top. If you want to level up your sandwiches, you can add toppings to the outside of the ice cream by rolling the sandwich on its side. Think things like sprinkles, cereal, crushed up candy bars, or chocolate chips – yum! It’s also fun to experiment with different ice cream flavor + topping combos.
When I was making these, I literally could not contain myself and ended up eating a few Glazers while I was cutting the others in half. While you’re at Kwik Trip, you might as well pick up two or three boxes of Glazers; trust me, you’re gonna want more than 6 sandwiches! They freeze pretty well, so you can make a bunch of them + wrap them in plastic wrap and stick them in the freezer. Next time you’re craving some Glazer yumminess, you can just open up your freezer! Just note that you’ll want to let them thaw a tiny bit before you take a bite because the Glazers do get kind of hard. Another option is pre-scooping the ice cream and keeping it in the freezer without the Glazers. When you want a Glazer ice cream sandwich, just grab your pre-portioned ice cream out of the freezer, slice a Glazer in half, and you’re good to go!

S’mores
This 3-ingredient summer classic is a simple way to satisfy your nighttime dessert craving. Growing up, I spent most of my summers at our lakehouse – we sat around the campfire and roasted marshmallows for s’mores almost every night. I honestly don’t really like chocolate, marshmallows, or graham crackers on their own, but together, they are a match made in heaven! I’m pretty sure everyone knows how to make the perfect s’more, but in case you don’t, here’s how:

-Graham crackers
-Marshmallows
-Chocolate
-A marshmallow roasting stick

-Peeps (to swap out for marshmallows)
-Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
-A variety of flavored chocolates

First things first, you need to roast your marshmallow(s). If you don’t have a fire pit in your backyard, you can warm up marshmallows in the microwave. Toast them to your liking then remove your roasting stick from the fire. My sister likes to light her s’more marshmallows on fire so they are super burnt, while I’m more of a lightly cooked marshmallow type of girl. When it’s perfectly done, sandwich it between two crackers and a square of Hershey’s milk chocolate and there you have it – the perfect s’more!
I’m boring and usually just make my s’mores with a graham cracker + Hershey’s chocolate + regular marshmallows, but I do have a few favorite ways I like to mix it up! You can make it as simple or elaborate as you want.
My first tip is to swap Peeps for marshmallows. I can count on one hand the number of people I know who actually like straight-out-of-the-package-Peeps, but they are a game-changer when you use them in a s’more. It’s also really yummy to swap out Hershey’s chocolate with Kwik Trip’s Nature’s Touch flavored chocolate. They have so many varieties – my current favorite is the Milk Chocolate with Peanut Butter. It also tastes amazing to use a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup instead of chocolate! S’mores are a classic go-to dessert, especially on hot summer nights. Next time you are making them around the campfire, try out some of these yummy ingredient swaps!

Kwikery Cookie Shake
I’m a sucker for shakes. If I had to choose between sundaes, thick-Blizzard-like ice cream, or shakes, I’d choose shakes every time. They’re pretty great with just plain old vanilla ice cream, but this summer I had an idea that upped my shake game forever. Kwik Trip bakery cookies are the best, and they work perfectly for this recipe because they are so soft and chewy. They blend up really nicely and leave you with the most perfect shake!

-Ice cream (vanilla or any other flavor you want to experiment with)
-A little bit of milk (the 8oz one from Kwik Trip is perfect)
-2 or 3 of your favorite Kwikery bakery cookies
–Blender (I love my Ninja single-serve)
-Spoon or ice cream scoop
-Tall cup

-Whipped cream
-Chocolate syrup
-Caramel syrup
-Your favorite candy crushed up into pieces

Start this recipe off by adding a crumbled up cookie to the bottom of your blender. Next, add in a few scoops of ice cream. For single-serve blenders like the one I’m using, fill it up about 90% of the way. With the little bit of room left on top, add another crumbled up cookie. Now comes the fun part – you can add anything else you want to your shake! If you need some ideas, you could try adding chocolate chips, caramel syrup, or your favorite candy. Finally, add a splash of milk to make it nice and creamy.
Now, blend it up until your shake is the consistency you like! Pour it into your cup and top with another crumbled up cookie and some whipped cream. You might want to use a spoon instead of a straw to eat it if you still have big cookie chunks after blending. That’s it! The Kwikery bakery cookies paired with Nature’s Touch ice cream make a creamy, smooth, yummy shake. I love this simple treat, and my favorite part is that it only requires a few ingredients!

Okay, so maybe you’re really picky or have dietary restrictions and can’t enjoy rootbeer floats, Glazer ice cream sandwiches, s’mores, or Kwikery cookie shakes. Luckily, Kwik Trip has a huge array of treats available from the minute you walk in the doors! We all know that Kwik Trip is the best of the best when it comes to gas station chains. They have everything! Some of my favorite grab-and-go treats are the F’Real shakes, rice Krispie treats, Fresh Blends smoothies or cold brew, donuts, bottled iced coffee, and apple turnovers. There are sooo many choices so you can find something for everyone!
Simple, easy treats are the best kind of treats – Kwik Trip is the best place to shop for everything you need to satisfy your sweet tooth. I can’t get enough of the convenience! I hate wasting summer days walking around the grocery store, and Kwik Trip saves me a trip.

Personally, I like to mix up what I eat on dessert nights, so I rotate all four of these treats every few nights! They all have one thing in common (other than being delicious) – I made them almost entirely with supplies from Kwik Trip! When you’re there shopping for supplies to create your dream dessert, remember to scan your Kwik Trip app to earn rewards that you can redeem for even more amazing treats.
