One of my favorite bloggers, Aspyn Ovard, recently shared a “12 Things” post and I thought it would be really fun to do one myself. Basically you just write 12 random things that are on your mind! These pictures are from a cute little smoothie shop called Bonafide Juicery that Madi and I went to this past weekend in Green Bay. They had the BEST avocado toast ever and the smoothie bowls were amazing.
12 Things:
- Nick and I have been back from vacation for a little over a month and I’m already dreaming of our next trip. I just got back from Texas to shoot my first wedding and am hopefully headed to Florida with my family in March. I’m already adding up my vacation days to plan our next adventure! We have been thinking about/looking at the Bahamas (not a cruise, which is shocking!)
- Lately I have been finding myself very overwhelmed with adulting. I seriously feel like there are not enough hours in a day. Ugh!
- I am soooo excited for Christmas. I usually don’t decorate the house until after Thanksgiving, but I have a serious itch to do it right now. This year I have reached crazy-Christmas-lady status with three artificial Christmas trees. The house we live in right now isn’t even big enough for three trees….but you bet I’m gonna make it work.
- I have discovered the wonder that is TJ Maxx. I have always known what TJ Maxx was and have even shopped there a few times, but I just recently discovered how awesome it is. If you know me you might know that I’m a makeup hoarder that loves high-end brands. Did you know TJ Maxx (and Ross) sell high-end makeup for up to half off Sephora prices?! The catch is that no two stores have the same inventory and that they get new shipments almost every day. Some days I find ten things I love and some days I find none. It’ s like a treasure hunt and the thrill it gives me is so awesome.
- I have been really wanting to open some kind of handmade shop. I love to hand letter and have so many great ideas in my head that I would like to make a reality.
- I’ve been trying out some new “systems” in my life to try to make me feel less crazy. I am preparing to use cash envelope budgeting starting next month along with meal planning. I suck at making different meals so hopefully planning them out in advance will allow me to try out some new recipes.
- I’m already starting to plan my goals for the blog for 2018…and let me tell you I have some big plans!
- I kind of feel like I’m in this weird limbo of not knowing what to do with my life career-wise. I’m debating going back to school for a little bit to get a better finance degree and also have been considering going for my MBA. I don’t know exactly what kind of job I want but I feel like something along the lines of running my own business would be perfect for me.
- My photography business has really been booming this season. I am so proud of the work I’ve put in this year to grow my business and the results are definitely starting to show. I shot my first wedding this year and have done almost 15 photoshoots, and I have a few booked for November/December too! I’ve spent countless hours editing and learning my new camera and it has been so rewarding to see the work I am producing.
- My baby sister started college in September and it’s been such a hard adjustment for me. I used to see her all the time and now I’m lucky if I see her once a month. It’s hard because she’s my best friend and I can’t just drive 5 minutes to see her now. I spent last weekend visiting her and it was so hard to come back home.
- I’ve been super into organizing lately. I just organized our entire kitchen and now I am looking for other rooms to tear apart and stuff to get rid of.
- A few things on my Christmas wish list are an iPad Pro, Adidas Superstars, and a JCrew Sweatshirt!
Have a fabulous Wednesday!
