Nick and I had the most amazing vacation this year. We spent three days in the Florida Keys (we rented a Camero to drive down there, so fun!) and then two days at Disney. After that, we headed back to Miami to board a Carnival Cruise. The cruise stopped at ports in Key West and Cozumel. At the end of the cruise, we spent the weekend in Miami Beach with a friend. If you have any interest in the details of our trip or want to see some super fun pictures, feel free to read on.
We flew into Miami and rented a car through my old place of work, Enterprise. I had reserved a challenger but they didn’t have any available so they gave us a 2017 convertible Camero instead. So cool! We spent the entire rest of the day driving to Key West. It was about a four hour drive and we made a few stops along the way. We got to our hotel around sunset. The next day we did some exploring in Key West. We went to the Southernmost Point, Duval Street, and ended the night with a beach photoshoot. Kathy of Macy Ryan Photography took the most amazing photos of us at Smathers Beach in Key West. She did such an awesome job capturing our relationship and I will cherish the photos forever.
The next leg of our trip was Disney. We spent almost 7 hours in the car driving from Key West to Orlando. Our first day at Disney was spent at Magic Kingdom. I’m a hardcore Disney fan so I loved every minute of it. The next day we spent the day at Animal Kingdom. Even though it rained on and off all day, we still had such a magical time at the parks.
Finally it was time for our cruise. We drove back down to Miami and returned our sweet ride. Then we headed to the cruise port to board the Carnival Victory. The first full day of the cruise was spent docked in Key West. This time we did a pub crawl and it was super fun. There was so much fun stuff to do on the boat. One of my favorite things was the movies they played every night by the pool, and of course, the ice cream machine! We took advantage of the unlimited alcoholic beverage package and are so glad we did.
The next day we docked in Cozumel. I’ve never been to Mexico so I didn’t know what to expect, but I ended up loving it way more than I thought I would! We missed our original excursion we had booked because the boat came in late, but we re-booked a different catamaran snorkel tour. The time on the boat was fun, but I didn’t love the snorkeling. We were confined to such a small space crammed with people and I’ve snorkeled in way cooler places. After the stop at the snorkel spot, we spent an hour or two at the beach. We mostly walked around exploring and taking photos.
The last full day of the cruise was spend sailing back to Miami. We spent the day mini golfing, swimming, and laying by the pool.
After we got off the ship and spent an hour getting interrogated and searched by TSA, we hopped in with my friend Emily and drove to South Beach. We spent most of our Miami weekend laying on the beach drinking. We went to some fun clubs one night and Nick and I even tried our hand at salsa dancing. Nick and I rented a jetski and drove it off the coast of South Beach.
We had the most amazing vacation this year. It was so fun experiencing such a variety of activities and places in two short weeks with someone I love.
