A lot has happened since my last 12 things post so I wanted do an update today! Here it goes:
12 Things:
- I am not graduating from college this Saturday like I had planned. Originally, the plan was to graduate in May of 2017 after four years of college. Health problems pushed that to December 2017, and now here I am in December pushing that again. A few weeks ago, my college announced a new Financial Planning Degree. Having this degree means you are eligible to sit for the CFP exam without any extra classes, which is something I have always considered doing. I would be graduating with a regular old finance degree, but instead I decided to stay and obtain my Financial Planning degree. I am only four classes short of having this degree, but the sad part is that I will not be graduating until May 2019 because of when the classes are offered. It was a hard decision to decide to stay in school, especially considering the amount of time it adds on to my college career. I am so excited about the future and the doors this new degree and hopefully certification will lead to.
- I am going to Grand Cayman in March! We booked the trip a few days ago and I seriously could die of excitement. The last time we were there was in February and it feels like that was years ago. Grand Cayman is my favorite place in the whole world and I can’t wait to spend more time there in March.
- I have been shopping way too much at Old Navy lately. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably know that Old Navy is hands down my favorite store. They have had such amazing deals lately with the holidays that I’ve been making almost weekly trips there. Last week they had $1 fuzzy socks. ONE DOLLAR!! How could I possibly pass that up?!
- Madi and I have been doing a “12 Days of Christmas” Gift exchange and it’s been so fun! Basically, we decided to get 12 small gifts and exchange one each day leading up to Christmas. It’s so fun to have a gift to look forward to at the end of the day and to know how much thought we put into each gift.
- My favorite bagel thins from Trader Joe’s were discontinued. It’s sad how sad this makes me. They were whole-wheat Everything bagel-thins and they were super healthy but didn’t taste super healthy, which is why I love them. I am a huge bagel fan but I know they aren’t the best thing for you, so I need to find a new healthy option. Anyone have any recommendations?!
- This December hasn’t felt the same as in the past. Christmas has always been one of my favorite times of the year. I used to have time to do fun, festive activities every day in December like baking cookies and going ice skating. Now that I have a full-time job and am back in school, there hasn’t been time for hardly any of the things I love. I miss how I used to feel in December and having time to do fun holiday things.
- I’m hoping to photograph some more weddings in the upcoming year. I shot my first this October and as I was going through with final edits, I realized how proud I am of the work I did and the photos I captured. I was so nervous and stressed that I didn’t get any good photos because the day seemed to move so fast. I am really happy with my work though and hope to be doing some more to try out new poses/techniques!
- I am trying really hard to start being more healthy. I need and would really like to lose some weight not only for health reasons but for myself. I am confident that I can make little changes in what I eat and how active I am and will hopefully see some results. I am not going to do a 360 on my life and diet because I love food and that would never work. I am going to work on portion control, exercising more, drinking more water, and not eating so late at night!
- I am getting so excited about the new year. I have so many personal/blog/photography goals that I am ready to crush and I can’t wait to have the “fresh start” that the year brings. I can already tell that 2018 is going to be a good one. A post will be coming soon on my new goals and reviewing the goals I made at the end of 2016!
- I’ve been really into podcasts lately. I feel much more productive on my hour commute to and from work everyday when I am listening to them. Some favorites lately have been the Goal Digger podcast and the Influencer Podcast.
- Cold weather is so awful. Yes, I live Wisconsin and yes, I also hate winter. It’s actually been a really mild winter so far and we’ve only gotten like a half inch of snow. Still, I am dreading the cold weather to come.
- I have a sleep study coming up in a couple weeks that I’m super nervous about. I’ve had sleep issues for years (I sleep way too much) so I am excited to hopefully get some answers.
