Travel Guide: Top Five St. Louis Must-Do’s

I haven’t stayed in any other hotels in St. Louis, but I am still going to say this is the best one. I had the most amazing stay at the St. Louis Marriott Grand. I was welcomed with the sweetest letter and some St. Louis themed goodies, like an Arch-shaped chocolate and some yummy Fitz’s soda, which is bottled right here in St. Louis! The hotel is located in a prime location, so we could easily walk to the Gateway Arch. It was so nice to not have to find somewhere to park by the arch. The hotel offers valet and self parking, so we just left our car there while we explored. The rooms were beautiful – I felt like I was at home. We had a beautiful view of the city. After a long day of exploring, there was nothing better than falling into the comfortable beds. In the morning, we had a delicious breakfast in the Executive Lounge before we headed out on the road again. The staff were so friendly and kind, they really made our stay special! Even though our stay was complimentary, I can honestly say that I will be staying here again next time I come to St. Louis!

I found this little coffee shop/bakery on Instagram and I am so happy we stopped on our way out of town. I got a Turtle Mocha and a Vanilla Cupcake. They were both amazing. I don’t like Mochas from Starbucks or any other coffee shops, but this Turtle Mocha was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had! The cupcakes were moist and delicious too. I also got a frosting stuffed cookie to-go and, you guessed it, that was also amazing! I definitely recommend stopping by this cute shop on your trip to St. Louis, you won’t regret it! The treats on the menu are super affordable, so it’s an inexpensive activity.

We also made a quick pit stop at this well-known park. This 1,300 acre park has tons of beautiful architecture and landscaping. The park is also home to five different activities: the Missouri History Museum, the Muny, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Saint Louis Science Center, and the Saint Louis Zoo. This park is smack dab in the middle of the city, so it kind of reminded me of Central Park in New York. After you visit the St. Louis Zoo, be sure to spend some time strolling around this beautiful park. They have an interactive map that you can download on your phone to make sure you don’t miss anything! There is no admission fee to get into the park.

This is a classic must-do when you come to the city. It is arguably the main thing St. Louis is known for, so of course we had to stop by. The grounds of the arch and the views overlooking the river were so beautiful to walk around and explore. We took a tram all the way to the top, which kind of freaked me out, but I survived. The view from the top was beautiful. We could see the entire city and a cool overview of the Mississippi River. I’m so glad I finally got to go to the top of the Arch! The overall “tour” took about 45 minutes. There wasn’t a guided tour, we just looked around and explored for as long as we wanted once we were at the top. Adult tickets to go to the top of the arch are $13 each. The Arch is only a short walk away from the St. Louis Marriott Grand, which I love.
