I get wayyyyy too excited when the semi-annual Sephora sale comes around. Beauty Insiders get 10% off, and VIB and Rouge get 15% off. 15 PERCENT!!!! Sephora never has any sales so I always stock up during this one. They also had free shipping. It just so happens that at the same time of the Sephora sale, I got a 20% off Ulta coupon in my inbox! Since Ulta and Sephora don’t carry all the same brands, I had to place an order from each. I got a few new things to try out and some old favorites to replenish my stash.
I am so excited that Ulta started carrying Colourpop. I heard that it’s not considered prestige, which means you can use those $3.50 off $10 coupons on Colourpop in the future! I’ve always been a huge fan of them. Their makeup is extremely affordable and super high quality. I had to pick up a few things with my 20% off coupon. I got the super shock shadow in the prettiest bronze color, Sailor. I have always been obsessed with their Ultra Matte Lip Creams, so I picked up one in the shade Bumble.
I also picked up a NYX buttergloss in the shade Fortune Cookie. One of my favorite youtubers wears this color every day and it’s super cheap so I decided to get one. The formula is really creamy and I love the natural look it gives my lips. I only spent like $20 at Ulta and I got 3 things! Colourpop and NYX are my favorite affordable “high-end” makeup brands.
Next up, Sephora. I spent more than I intended to here, but what’s new.
I have been wanting to try a new foundation for so long. I’ve been a die hard fan of the Too Faced Born This Way foundation since the day it was released. After using like 3 bottles of it, I decided it was time to try something new. I’ve tried a few Fenty products and have been really impressed, so I thought I’d see if I like the Fenty foundation. I totally guessed on my shade and I was spot on. I wear the shade190. I’ve only tried it once so far but I am obsessed. I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out. It applies so smoothly and feels weightless on my face while still giving me medium to full coverage.
I also got my favorite lip balm of all time, the Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner. I got a sample of this in my Sephora Play! box awhile back and ever since then I’ve been hooked. You might think $30 for a lip balm is excessive. It sort of is, but this stuff is amazing. I’d pay $70 for a tube of it. I have the nastiest chapped lips all year round. I apply chapstick 100 times a day and nothing has ever helped until this came along. It makes my lips feel smooth and refreshed within seconds of putting it on. Plus, it smells amazing and isn’t sticky!
The next thing I picked up is the Peter Thomas Roth Peel Off Mask. This is another product that I tried from my Play! box. This peel off chemical mask is my all time favorite new skincare product. I was worried that it would dry out my skin because I have skin as dry as the Sahara. I was so impressed that it didn’t! I love that when you use this, you can literally see the dead skin and dirt peeling off your face. A little bit goes a long way too, so this bottle will last you awhile.
I’ve been hearing so much buzz around the Makeup Eraser, so I picked one up to try. I got a black one. So far, I really like it! I was a bit skeptical of how a piece of cloth could take makeup off, but it really does. I think this will be an amazing tool to use over and over again and it will save me so much money on makeup wipes and makeup remover!
The last thing I got to try is Smith’s Rosebud Salve. I’ve never used this chapstick before but a lot of bloggers (and my sister) swear by it. With a price tag of only $7, I couldn’t pass it up.
The Sephora sale is over now, but don’t worry. They will do it again in the fall. You have plenty of time to start your wishlist! If you just can’t wait until the next sale, you can shop some of my favorites here:
