5 Things You Need to Have the Perfect Beach Day

I’m a sucker for a good beach day. If I could, I’d plant myself at the beach all day every day. Unfortunately, that’s not possible…because adulting. Since my beach days are not super frequent, I want to make sure I bring everything I need to have the perfect day each time. It’s so annoying to have to constantly be running up to the hotel room or back to the car throughout the day because you forgot something (I know, such a first world problem). A GOOD SWIMSUIT

Lands’ End is officially my all-time favorite place to shop for swimsuits. Not gonna lie, sometimes when I go to the beach, I pack a few different suits so I can take some fun Instagram pictures in each one. What I love the most about Lands’ End swimsuits is the quality and the fit. I wore this same swimsuit when I was 20 pounds heavier, and it was extremely flattering on my body both times.  Every one of their suits is made out of thick, stretchy material that really sucks everything in. It’s so important to wear the right swimsuit on your beach day so you don’t waste the day feeling self-conscious and uncomfortable. BEACH COVERUP

Finding the perfect coverup for your swimsuit can be a challenge. You need something cute enough to wear if you go on any mid-day adventures, but also comfortable enough to throw on over your swimsuit. I am obsessed with my black Lands’ End beach coverup dress. It has the cutest lattice detailing at the top and is so light and airy. I get so many compliments when I wear it!

A BIG BEACH TOWEL

I firmly believe that big beach towels are a million times better than normal sized beach towels. This Lands’ End towel I have is surprisingly large. It ‘s over 6 feet long, so it’s the only towel you need for the perfect beach day. It’s super thick and is the perfect amount of cushion between you and the sand – it seriously feels like you are laying on a cloud! There’s so many different colors and patterns available, and they even have ones made specifically for kids! Lands’ End towels are easy to wash, and you can tell by the quality that they will last a very long time. They also have a monogramming option so you can customize it however you want!

THE PERFECT BEACH TOTE

There is literally no bag more perfect for the beach than a large Lands’ End canvas tote. They’re cute, durable, and hold everything you could ever need. Inside of mine, you’ll find my beach towel, a speaker, sunglasses, headphones, sunscreen, and a good book. When I am at the beach with someone, this huge bag holds all of their stuff too – it’s seriously amazing! They’re really easy to clean too – I just spot clean mine with a tiny bit of laundry soap and let it air dry. As you can tell by the photos in this post, I have a whole collection of Lands’ End canvas totes. They really are the most useful bag on the planet. They also have totes that are COOLERS and they are so perfect for the beach too. I use mine every time I’m taking drinks and snacks to the beach with me.

BEACH SLIDES

I learned the hard way one year that you can’t wear Birkenstocks to the beach – I instantly ruined my favorite pair when I took them in the sand. Now, I opt for Adidas slides on the beach. I have a few different pairs so I can change up my look. Whatever shoe you decide to rock at the beach, make sure it’s plastic so the sand doesn’t ruin them.
