Can we just take a moment to think about how the beginning of this year has flown by?! Every year at the end of summer, Nick and I take a tropical vacation. We obviously ended up canceling this year, which was absolutely heartbreaking. Anyways, if we were getting ready for a big trip, I would only be packing one skincare set that is absolutely perfect for vacations (and normal everyday life too): The Littles by Drunk Elephant.
If you’re new around here, you might not know that I’m a HUGE Drunk Elephant Skincare fan. Like, I got rid of my other skincare products and only use these now. I own and have restocked the full size of every product, and I take my Drunk Elephant The Littles set with me EVERYWHERE – on every road trip, weekend trip to the cabin, and international vacation. The Littles are mini sizes of the best of the best Drunk Elephant products packaged up in a cute little silicone travel bag. Simple, convenient skincare is a must for busy people like me.
Drunk Elephant really covered all the bases here – The Littles set is an entire skincare routine packaged into one cute little silicone pouch. With eight products inside, this set is the perfect way to balance and reset your skin! The first Drunk Elephant products I ever used were from The Littles, and over two years later, I’m still hooked on their skincare.
Everything You Need to Know About Drunk Elephant
Drunk Elephant is a skincare brand that only uses ingredients that directly benefit the skin. This sounds like something that every skincare brand would do, but that’s not true! To align with Drunk Elephant’s philosophy, the brand excludes the “Suspicious 6” from their products. What are the Suspicious Six? Essential oils, drying alcohols, silicones, chemical sunscreens, fragrances/dyes, SLS. These ingredients are in pretty much every skincare product on the market except for anything by Drunk Elephant! For more in-depth information on the ingredients that go into their products, check out the Philosophy section of their website. Drunk Elephant encourages people to switch up their skincare regimen and take a “clean break” from products containing damaging ingredients (like the Suspicious Six). The other thing I love about Drunk Elephant’s skincare products is that they are designed to be mixed with each other. I rarely ever just use one of their products at a time – I usually mix two or three different ones! The best part is that there isn’t really a wrong way to mix them – you can experiment to figure out what works best for your skin!
The Littles
I made the switch to Drunk Elephant about two years ago, and that switch started with The Littles. This set is a great starting point because it gives you the opportunity to try out some of Drunk Elephant’s most well-known products without having to splurge on the full-sized ones. You don’t have to have a huge skincare bag with you all the time – all you need is The Littles!
Here’s what’s inside the pink jelly zipper pouch:
- Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser [30 ml]
- Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil [8 ml]
- B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum [8 ml]
- Lala Retro Whipped Cream [15 ml]
- C-Firma Day Serum [8 ml]
- T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum [8 ml]
- Shaba Complex Eye Serum [5 ml]
- Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense SPF 30 [15 ml]
This set covers all the basics (plus some extras). I’m a firm believer that skincare is a worthy investment – after all, you’re going to live with your skin for your entire life!
Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser
This is one of my top favorite Drunk Elephant products – I use it every single day. I have very sensitive dry skin, and this cleanser is gentle and effective. It is the perfect way to clean off the day before bed without stripping your skin of moisture. I really like how it doesn’t have a scent and it lathers *just* the right amount. After using up my mini cleanser from The Littles Set, I have already used up three full-sized bottles. It’s the best cleanser I’ve ever used!
Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil
The Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil is my absolute favorite product to mix – I put this oil in pretty much everything. I’ll admit that I was hesitant to try a face oil because I didn’t want my face to end up looking greasy. Drunk Elephant’s Virgin Marula Oil blew all of my expectations out of the water. This is another product I use every single day. My skin almost instantly soaks the oil up and leaves it feeling healthy and glowy, even during the winter when I have the dryest skin ever. My skin never looks or feels greasy after application. Drunk Elephant killed it with this oil!
B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
This hydrating serum also has a spot in my top 5 favorite Drunk Elephant products. It is so light and weightless, but the moisture it gives my skin is unparalleled. I usually mix a few drops of this with a few drops of the Virgin Marula Oil and pat it gently all over my face daily. You can literally feel your skin drinking this serum up! One of the primary ingredients is Hyaluronic Acid, which attracts and holds moisture in the skin to hydrate from within. This is another product that I have repurchased many times!
Lala Retro Whipped Cream
When I think of creams, I think heavy. Not this cream – it’s lighter than most but heavy enough that you can feel the moisture sink into your face. This cream doesn’t leave any greasy residue or film on your skin. The oils infused in this cream work by replenishing the skin’s moisture barrier. I love the cute little container this comes in too – I am constantly refilling it to take on trips or throw in my purse! This is another product that I love mixing. Sometimes I combine Lala Retro Whipped Cream with a drop or two of Virgin Marula Oil, and sometimes I pair it with one of my serums.
C-Firma Day Serum
We hear about serums all the time, but what exactly makes a serum good? The unique combo of Ascorbic + Ferulic Acid paired with Vitamin E + C firms and brightens skin. I have honestly noticed a difference after just one or two uses! My skin glows all day long when I apply C-Firma Day Serum in the morning.
T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
Another serum! Both of the serums in The Littles are amazing, but this is my favorite of the two. The perfect blend of AHAs and BHA exfoliate skin and unclog pores. Exfoliation can be done in one of two ways: scrubbing or with acid. I definitely prefer the acid exfoliation that Drunk Elephant’s products give my skin. Something to note – this serum tingles a little bit the first few times you use it, but eventually that goes away! Like the C-Firma Day Serum, there is a noticeable difference in my skin after I sleep with this on.
Shaba Complex Eye Serum
Let’s be honest – eye cream (and serums) are super intimidating. Everyone says that by the time you hit your mid-twenties, you should have a good eye cream that you use regularly. I am officially in my mid-twenties (yikes), but I also happen to have extremely sensitive skin around my eyes. I’m happy to report that Drunk Elephant’s Shaba Complex Eye Serum does not irritate my eyes at all! I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I’ve experimented with dozens of eye cream, and this is still #1 in my book. The light, silky smooth formula combats fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and loss of elasticity.
Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense
We all know how important sunscreen is, and this cute little tube leaves you with no excuse not to apply it daily. The product feels a little heavy at first, but you can’t even tell it’s on your face after it’s blended out. The sunscreen is SPF 30, so you have to rub it in pretty well if you don’t want white marks on your face. I wore and reapplied this several times every day that we were in Aruba last year, and it did an amazing job protecting my skin from the hot Caribbean sun.
So, are you convinced that you need The Littles yet?! I really can’t recommend this set enough. It is a little on the pricey side, but trust me when I say it’s worth every penny. I have never been as excited about skincare as I am after switching to Drunk Elephant. My skin has never looked better, and I am confident that it will stay healthy and youthful as I continue to age. Are you ready to give your skin a #DrunkBreak?! You can pick up The Littles at your local Sephora or on Drunk Elephant’s website.
