For the last year or so, I have been on a huge smoothie/juice/açaí bowl kick. After moving to Austin this past summer, I still couldn’t kick my obsession – in fact, it may have gotten worse. Austin is known for having a huge number of food places that offer unique, healthy options. This means there’s no shortage of smoothie/juice places!
I partnered with some amazing Austin juice bars/smoothie/bowl places to find the best of the best so I could share it with you. Don’t get me wrong, this is a sponsored post, but I absolutely would not recommend anything that I didn’t wholeheartedly love. These places are at the top of my list – don’t even waste your time going anywhere else! I tested out tons of places throughout the summer (I didn’t enjoy them all, so many of them are not included in this post). Read on to hear all about my favorites! In no particular order…

My Favorites: KISS pressed juice, Tropic Thunder pressed juice, So Cool smoothie
I actually missed this place when I was driving by because I didn’t realize it was a little food truck. The parking was kind of difficult, but trust me, it’s so worth it. They have such a huge menu of options – from salads to juices to dozens of smoothies. There’s also a cute little seating area out front that is shaded so you can sit and hang out with your friends while you sip your juice. It’s the perfect stop if you are exploring South Congress! For real though, these are some of the best juices I have ever had in my life. They’re pressed fresh to order too! Juice Austin also offers a juice cleanse that I can’t wait to try next time. The smoothies are super filling and there are so many ways to customize your drink. The So Cool smoothie that I love has strawberry, pineapple and apple juice in it – my three favorite things! I wish they had a Juice back home, I would go every single day!

My Order: Berry Godmother Smoothie + Big Trouble in Little City
My favorite thing about JuiceLand is that they have over 20 locations in Austin! It’s so convenient to find one near you. JuiceLand also runs special deals all the time, which is great if you’ve been wanting to try something new but aren’t completely sure you’ll love it. My favorite JuiceLand smoothie is the Berry Godmother. It’s made from pineapple juice, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, goji berry, and camu camu – so refreshing on a hot summer day. I also picked up this yummy cold-brew bottled drink and I loved drinking that next morning for my coffee fix. JuiceLand also offers juice cleanses and wellness shots that I hope to try out soon!

My Order: Peach, Kale, Peanut Butter, Apple Juice Smoothie + Grilled Rosemary Chicken
This yummy little juicery sits in the heart of downtown Austin. Along with a customizable smoothie and juice menu, Jugo offers tons of grab-and-go food and drink options. I honestly am not the biggest fan of green smoothies because they sometimes taste like grass. I took a risk and tried out the Peach, Kale, Peanut Butter, Apple Juice Smoothie at Jugo though – and it did not disappoint. Not only did it lack the grass taste I was so worried about, it had a subtle peanut butter taste (I also don’t like when a smoothie tastes too peanut-butter-y, I know, I’m picky) while also having the perfect amount of fruitiness. I couldn’t even taste the Kale, and I was SO pumped about that. I stopped in mid-day, and I was pretty hungry. The food at Jugo all looked so good – I wanted to try them all, but I opted for the grilled rosemary chicken. It was so good. If you know me, you know I usually smother my chicken in ketchup (don’t judge me…), but this chicken was so moist and seasoned perfectly so I didn’t even have to! These two items filled me up the perfect amount, making it a great stop for your lunch break. In other exciting news, Jugo also just opened a new location on North Lamar, so now you can get your fix on the north side of town too!

My Order: Bowl of Paradise + Iced Coffee
When I walked into Blenders & Bowls, I felt like I was immediately transported to a tropical island. They have a huge menu of smoothies and bowls. I had such a hard time deciding what to order because they all sounded so good. After a lot of deliberation, I finally decided on the Bowl of Paradise. Let me tell you, it was the best açaí bowl I’ve had in my life (and I’ve had a lot of açaí bowls). The bowl was super affordable, and the one I ordered contained pitaya, mango, pineapple, banana, and coconut water. It was topped with granola, strawberries, goji berries, coconut shreds, and honey. I seriously still have dreams about this açaí bowl. There are five Austin locations, so you can get your açaí bowl fix no matter where the day takes you!

My Order: Kale Yeah! Bowl
This place was decorated so cute on the inside. It’s located in the Mueller area, so parking can be limited, especially on weekends. They also have a Barton Spring Açaí Hut food truck! This brick and mortar shop opened up in June of 2018. Their menu has a huge range of yummy smoothie and bowl options. I got the Kale Yeah! bowl, and while it wasn’t bad, next time I will try something else. The bowl I got was made with açaí, guarana, coconut water, kale, and banana. It was topped with granola, avocado, banana, kiwi, pistachio, and almond butter. I thought it was cool to see a bowl topped with avocado – I’ve never seen that anywhere else! I loved that they put the smoothie in a wooden bowl that looks like a coconut and paired it with a wooden spoon. It makes those Instagram pics perfect. There’s tons of seating inside and outside, so it’s a great place to grab a treat and reconnect with your friends!

My Order: Get Tropical (pictured above), and Build Your Own Smoothie
This cute little smoothie shop is located inside the Refinery downtown. The decor could not be any cuter, and every single employee I interacted with throughout the summer was so sweet. I visited the Squeezery several times during my time in Austin, and it was packed every single time. I can see why! You can taste how fresh their smoothies are – all of their ingredients are organic and their juices are pressed in house. It’s so convenient to stop in while you’re walking around downtown for a little pick-me-up. Their menu is chalk-full of juices, smoothies and bowls. They also have gelato bowls that look so yummy. It’s a one-stop shop! Most of the time when I stop into Squeezery, I build a custom smoothie. I usually get something along the lines of: apple juice, strawberry, pineapple, apple, açaí and goji berries. I love that you can customize it however you want, especially since I’m a super picky eater. The possibilities are endless! Be sure to snap a cute smoothie picture at the mural wall right outside.
